I know, I know—the fight over health care reform seems to be going on forever, but the mega-corporations (aka insurance companies) and their henchmen (aka The U.S. Chamber of Commerce) like it that way and are just hoping we get worn out and frustrated. They have bottomless piles of money they’re pouring into advertising now, and the only way we can compete with that kind of money is with our voices–our phone calls, letters, and visits to our representatives in Congress. We need to remind them that we’re the ones who vote–not the insurance companies. If the insurance companies win, we lose.

The Washington Post and New York Times websites have excellent charts comparing the Senate and House bills and showing the steps until final legislation passes. We can still influence the kind of legislation we get, as the bills proceed through the Senate, then to conference, and then back to each chamber of Congress.

Call Congress to let them know that, in the immortal words of Fannie Lou Hamer, we’re sick and tired of being sick and tired.
