Stained Glass Windows of Williamsport

If you haven’t been to the Thomas T. Taber Museum in a while then you owe it to yourself to get over there soon while the “The Stained Glass Windows of Williamsport” is on. This exhibition presents stained glass windows from ten Williamsport houses of worship in styles that include Gothic Revival, the opalescent style of the Louis Comfort Tiffany Company and the Arts and Crafts style of the late 19th/early 20th century. The exhibition presents large photographs of the windows. The information for this exhibition was researched by Amy Golahny, Ph.D., Art History department of Lycoming College. The exhibition was funded by a grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The photographs were taken by the Terry Wild Studio and framed by B & S Picture Frames, Inc. The Stained Glass Windows of Williamsport is the subject of the 2009 Journal of the Lycoming County Historical Society, which includes photographs and articles about the subject.

The exhibition is up until January 23 at the Thomas T. Taber Museum at 858 West Fourth Street, Williamsport. For information: (570) 326-3326, www.tabermuseum.org.
